This timeline of the U.S. Civil War is a sample.  A single perspective of the important events and tasks
in that important war with England,  our mother country.  You can modify this timeline as you see fit.

Instructions:
   1.  This template  (a gantt chart)  is usable.

Remember that everything can be modified by you  (everything:  the title,  tasks,  number of tasks,
the numbers themselves,  the timeline names,  the number of timelines,  task durations,
task dependencies,  start dates,  milestones,  colors,  everything)

   2.  Click the 'Modify this Schedule in the Workspace' button:                          more discussion
The Workspace page will show you the timeline shown below,  and
it will also show you tabs which allow you to modify everything.

A Gantt Chart such as is shown above,  can be a good way to represent important historic timelines,  like the U.S. History timeline.  The format of the Gantt Chart omits detail which could interfere with being able to remember the correct sequence of events,  and the possible inter-relationships of events.  This simple visual chart can also emphasize specific items which might otherwise get missed  (such as the wars).

This is an example of a type of 'data mining',  illustrating that we can miss important aspects by becoming involved in understanding and remembering the details.  The other side of that, of course,  is that  'the devil is in the details'.  Think how much important information is left out in the above civil war history timeline.
